Food Art

I remember the evening I decided to challenge myself in painting food.  We had booked a table in Almarea, on our way back to the UK, after a few weeks away.  It was a beautiful warm evening, so we decided to stop to enjoy drinks and have a few Tapas.

It was the simplicity, form and colour of the dish which caught my attention.  Since then, before I eat anywhere, I  now make a concerted effort to really look at the dish before me, before diving in.

I’ve named this project “food on a plate” and hope as time goes by, to work on many more dishes.  It is however, sometimes a challenge to recreate food, especially the paella, but it certainly encourages me to use my mark making skills.
